Dispatch

The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters is implementing the Mix 20/20 Automated Job Dispatch system to process job referrals.

Mix 20/20 ensures NRCC dispatch rules are followed fairly and consistently for all assignments, guaranteeing members receive fair work opportunities based on their carpentry skills and position on the Out Of Work list.

When you receive a Dispatch call, you will be required to enter your PIN before proceeding. Then, based upon information you hear in the audio recording, you must accept or decline the opportunity. If you hang up during a Dispatch call, however, Mix considers it an automatic decline. If you want the job after you hang up or become disconnected, you must call either the New Jersey or New York Central Dispatch Office and speak with a Distpatcher.

Like all members using Mix, your activity in the system, is automatically tracked –
providing the NRCC with detailed logs of the process.

RECEIVING A DISPATCH CALL

You will receive an automated Dispatch for next-day referrals at your designated phone number between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.   Carpenters must be available to accept calls during these hours.  If you do not answer the call, you will be skipped and the next person on the list will be called.

When you answer a job dispatch, you will hear…

“This is a Job Dispatch call from the NRCC. This dispatch is intended for…<your first name>. ”

Or, you may hear…

“MIX 20/20, press 1”

in which case you must press ‘1’ to continue.

You will have an opportunity to make the system wait for up to 3 minutes until you are available, to have the system call back later (without penalty), or
continue with the dispatch.  Note:  If you have the system call back later, the
job will be offered to the next member on the list.

You will then hear…

“Please enter your Member PIN:”

Once the system validates your PIN — which will be the last four (4) digits of your SSN –you will hear your current number of declines and an audio recording describing the specific job assignment.  If you hang up or become disconnected AFTER ENTERING your PIN, MIX will consider it an automatic decline.

ACCEPTING/DECLINING A JOB

After hearing the information about the job, do one of the following:

To hear the information again, Press 1 – You can repeat the information up to three times.

To Accept the Job, Press 2 – You will hear confirmation of your acceptance, and additional recorded information about the job (if any). Your dispatcher and the contractor will receive written documentation of your acceptance and will expect you to arrive on-time at the assigned location.

When you accept the job, you will automatically be removed from the Out-of-Work list. If
it turns out to be a short term job you may contact your Local to have your OOW date reinstated.

To Decline the Job – If a decline will result in a penalty, you will be notified at this time. Once you end the call, your decline will be recorded by Mix.

In order for Mix 20/20 to dispatch the right carpenter to the right job, it is imperative that you send the NRCC your up-to-date skills.  If you have not yet done so, please fill out the Skills Form.  New Jersey residents should mail the completed form to the NRCC, Raritan Plaza II, 2nd Floor, 91 Fieldcrest Avenue, Edison, NJ 08837.  New York residents should mail it to the NRCC, 181 Industrial Park Road, Horseheads, NY 14845.
