The New Jersey & New York State SIB Committee, along with other Sisters throughout the Northeast Regional Council, interacted with the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, NY recently at their “Girls go the Distance” Walkathon and Activity Fair.

At the April event, Sisters offered a hands-on “Match the Tool to the Fastener” activity, which drew a great deal of interest.
Girls from ages 5-10 were eager to don hard hats and safety glasses to try their hand at nails, screws and bolts.
The theme for this fifth annual event was “Healthy Living Initiatives.”  The Sisters displayed and wore all varieties of Personal Protective Equipment to stress the importance of safety for health's sake.
The Sisters were also making a statement that “Jobs Do Not Have a Gender”; thereby encouraging young women to be aware of options for their futures.
The New Jersey & New York State SIB committee members enjoyed having a kinship with Sisters of other Northeast Regional Council Locals and look forward to sharing in upcoming volunteer events.
