On December 15, 2017, NRCC President and New Jersey Regional Manager Bill Sproule accepted the "Continuous Member Award" from Southern New Jersey Development Council (SNJDC) Chairman Ed Hutchinson on behalf of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters. The award recognizes the NRCC for 25 years of consecutive support and partnership with the SNJDC.
The annual holiday luncheon and networking event was hosted at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey and recognizes the SNJDC's various supporters while highlighting the longevity of the organization's relationships. The partnership between the NRCC and Southern New Jersey Development Council helps promote economic development and growth in the southern eight counties of New Jersey.
Among those in attendance was special guest speaker and President of Stockton University Dr. Kesselman. Kesselman spoke about the expansion of the Stockton campus, including its new campus in Atlantic City located at the intersection of Atlantic, Albany and Pacific avenues which NRCC carpenters are helping to construct. The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters partnered with the University to aid in building the apartments for over 500 students overlooking the beach and Boardwalk. The University plans to open the new campus in 2018 starting with about 1,000 students.
