NRCC & PRAHD Pre-Apprentice Recognition Ceremony

The New Jersey Carpenters Apprentice Training and Educational Fund (NJCTF) and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Development Inc. (PRAHD,) sponsored an awards ceremony for seven trainees in their Pre-Apprenticeship program on Oct. 28th.

The New Jersey Carpenters Apprentice Training and Educational Fund (NJCTF) and the Puerto Rican Association for Human Development Inc. (PRAHD,) sponsored an awards ceremony for seven trainees in their Pre-Apprenticeship program on Oct. 28th. The event was held at the NJ Carpenters Training Center, Kenilworth, NJ.
The trainees have completed at least 100 hours of technical training toward their goal of 400 hours. The recipients include:
  • Wesley Mead
  • Jose Morales
  • Brunilda Rivera
  • Sandra Rivera
  • Angel Serrano
  • Jose Soto
  • Adrian Valasquez
All of the trainees received a $100 stipend and those who completed more than 200 hours received a new leather tool apron equipped with the essential tools of the trade.
Ridgley Hutchinson, executive director, NJCTF, provided opening remarks and Yvonne Lopez, CEO, PRAHD, offered congratulations related to the success of the program.
Kevin P. McCabe, President, the Carpenter Contractor Trust NY/NJ, announced a continuation of the program symbolized by a new memorandum of understanding between the two organizations. Troy Singleton, Assistant to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, spoke about the Carpenters union’s continued commitment to the pre-apprenticeship program.
