Carpenters Training Center Director Charles Brock will conduct a tour of the NRCC's Philadelphia training facility during the union's 25th Annual Open House and Philadelphia Joint Apprenticeship Committee Contest, which will highlight five categories of carpenter craftsmanship; general carpentry, interior finish carpentry, floor laying, mill/cabinetry work and millwright work. The contestants were top test-scorers from the current apprentice graduating class. Read more for event details.
In addition to over 25 trade show exhibitions, the Open House will feature demonstrations by the union's wharf and dock builders apprentices in the facility's water training dive tank, which is used for underwater welding certification.
Many students from the region's local vocational and high schools will attend the day-long open house.
